Camera Critters...a tribute to a very special little Corgi, Milli

My little Milli was attacked by a cougar last month, in my front yard in the evening.
This was just 10 days after I lost my mother, which is it's own post on my other blog, Jan's Place.

We live in the country, and in a moment of time (in the dark of night) the predator took her to the 5 acre partial behind ours.

My other corgi Oscar, led me the direction she was taken. With his escalated barking for her, and my continued calling and scanning with a flashlight in the direction I thought she was, she slowly crawled out of the heavy swampy woods. She was in heavy shock and severely injured.

I think it is a miracle that I was even able to get her back.

We rushed her to the emergency vet, to try to save her. Milli was hurt so horribly that after taken into surgery, they could not save her.

I needed to provide this information, as this is a special post for me... Milli was a very special little dog.

FYI ...Internet Issues, due to change in "Clear" service!

We are being effected by a change in our ability to use our Internet, since Clear "updated" their modems.

As you may have noticed...this has effected my ability to blog, and especially to comment. The little icon just spins and spins!

Does anyone out in the land of blog use either Hughes Satellite Internet or Wildblue? If so, please provide us with your feedback!

Clear sent out their tech person, who said we will not see improvements, and that those of us on the "fringe area" of their coverage are seeing a negative effect to the changes they have made. Gee, really? We do not have any other options such as Comcast, or Verizon FiOs. Living in the "country" has some challenges for sure!

This is so frustrating, try paying your online bills, with no online to pay them from! So... I miss my blogging friends for now, and will be back as soon as we have something that will work! Jan :)

I am a bit eclectic with my Christmas ornaments... and could not resist this little donkey made out of wood products, while we were in Leavenworth Washington yesterday.
We went over for the "Christmas lighting of the Village" festivities. It was wonderful cold fun with Brea and her family, in this lovely little German Village in Washington State!

I have a new electric tea/water Kettle, and love it. It changes color as the water heats up...

And also Candles ...
What? You don't think they fit under this Technology challenge?

I have had more then one mishap with candles and my husband prefers I avoid them for fear of the end results!
How cool is this, candles that flicker and smell like vanilla, and even have a timer to turn themselves off after a period of time.
No flame and no fire, for Jan to torch the house with in a forgotten or clumsy moment!

For Monochrome Weekly I choose a shot of a crow I took last week. I work on the third floor of a building , and for the last few days at lunch time we have had lots of crows just hanging out on the trees around our building. This subject (being black already) seemed like good Monochrome material!

For Sunday Stills the challenge is the letter T.. all I could think of was tree's...but then I walked around the side of my house, and in the back garden area...

I have the remains of the garden here in the fall, after the heavy rain we recently had. It just does not appear as lovely as it did earlier this summer.

I have garden tools on the garden tool bench. And a True Temper wheelbarrow.

I have tomato plants (poor sad looking tomato plant) and it's Tomato Tag...

These were taken with my old point and shoot camera. Just think how much cooler they could be with a good DSLR .

Also, I thought I would share them for Friday Skywatch because after all, they claim Disneyland is the happiest place on earth!

I think just seeing Disneyland pictures can bring a smile to your face :)

Ah ... more Seattle rain on the red leaf maple leaves..

My rose plant is fighting the weather to the end...still trying to force one more bud through. Two shots taken at slightly different angles..and the colors are so different.

And this was the coolest dragonfly... I was so happy that he was so cooperative when I was getting shots of him...only to find out ..he was dead!

I was able to pose him on several objects though!

He is part Terrier and definitely has that terrier stubborn attitude!
