Scenic Sunday

I have always wanted to capture some shots of the old barns that are around my local countryside...I just wonder how excited the farmers must of been when these barns were first built on their farms, and who built them.

I have found about a half dozen of them scattered throughout a 10 -15 mile area that appear to be built by the same people, as they are very similar.

This particular barn is the only one I have found so far, that appears to be completely restored.

Please visit Scenic Sunday, for some other great scenic shots.

  1. That was a big one :) Contains both hey and animals I suppose. It's a fine building and I think the farmer was very proud of it :)

  3. Seems to be a very big building. Nice shape and I wonder whaT The small glasshouse on top was used for. Thanks for showing!

  5. This is a beautiful barn! We have so many barns in Ohio since we are a farming state, but I have not seen one like this. Nice shot.

Wonderful choice for Scenic Sunday. I shared more of my sister's travel photos at Sacred Ruminations today along with one of my own.

  9. Lovely photo of this barn. Barns are such a big open space. Bigger than houses, full of shelter and food. So many people are drawn to them, including me.

  10. Love the barn. I've always been attracted to old buildings and wonder about their original owners. Wonder if you could find out from any county or historic records?

The image of your grandaughter cries out to me as I had the same thing happen with my lab.

    Excellent captures.
